Training center and video library

Take a course or quick guide, watch walkthrough videos, or add your own training.

Written by Jarrett White

Overview

Broki has two places to learn the product. Training (under Settings > Training Modules) holds quick guides and structured courses organized in folders, and lets your organization create its own modules. The Video library holds Broki walkthrough videos and step-by-step topic guides.

Also called: Training Modules.

New brokers and processors use them to learn the CRM. Team leads use Training to add their own onboarding or compliance modules and to check completion.

At a glance

Training lives in Settings, and the video library is a separate play button in the top bar.

  • Training Modules is under Settings > Team & Access. Seeing that tab needs file management or company settings access. Admins always have it.

  • My Learning shows quick guides and courses inside folders. A module saved with no folder does not appear there.

  • Saving a module publishes it immediately. Broki Global Guide modules can't be edited or deleted.

  • The Video library needs an active subscription. Cards open on YouTube, Loom, or Scribe. The Popular sort doesn't reflect real viewing data.

The diagram shows those two places and what each one opens.

Before you begin

Before you take training or open the video library, check the Settings permission, the subscription, and whether Scribe, Loom, and YouTube are allowed on your network.

  • Training Modules is in Settings under Team & Access. To see that tab, you need file management or company settings access. Admins always have it. See Roles and permissions.

  • The Video library needs an active subscription.

  • Quick guides and videos load from Scribe, Loom and YouTube. Your network must allow those sites.

Step-by-step instructions

These steps cover taking training, browsing the video library, creating a module, and adding a folder.

Take training in My Learning

Take training in My Learning by opening a folder and selecting Start on a module.

  1. Open Settings, then under Team & Access select Training Modules.

  2. In the Training rail, select My Learning ("Guides & courses for you").

  3. Choose a section. The number next to each shows how many modules it has.

  4. Select a folder, for example Account Setup or Mortgage File Features. Use Search folders… to find one.

  5. On a module card, select Start.

  6. To go back to the folder list, select Folders.

The sections are:

  • Quick guides ("Scribe & Loom walkthroughs"). A quick guide opens in a window with the Scribe guide or Loom video.

  • Courses ("Structured learning modules"). A course opens full screen with its chapters, a Training Progress panel, and quizzes (Submit Quiz) where the module has them.

To confirm it worked, the module opens. When you finish a course, you'll see its completion screen.

Browse the video library

Browse the video library from the play icon in the top bar. Cards open outside Broki.

  1. In the top bar, select the Video library icon (a play button), next to Help & Support.

  2. Choose a tab.

  3. Sort with Latest, Popular or Oldest. Search with Search featured videos… or Search topic guides….

  4. Select a card. It opens in a new browser tab.

The tabs are:

  • Videos: Broki walkthroughs on YouTube and Loom. The product demo is pinned first.

  • Topic guides: step-by-step Scribe guides, grouped by topic, for example Getting Started, Document Management, Message & Email Templates, Commissions & Analytics, Tasks & Automations, Partner Management, Customization, Client & File Management, Client Portal, and Community & Support.

Create a training module

Create a training module to publish a Scribe guide, Loom video, or structured course to the roles you select.

The diagram shows the same publish path: course modules add chapters and quizzes, and saving publishes the module immediately.

  1. In Settings > Training Modules, select Modules ("Create & manage content").

  2. Select Create Module (or Create New Module). The builder opens.

  3. On Module Basics, fill in the fields below.

  4. For a Structured Course, use Content & Chapters to add chapters and sections. Sections can hold text and a YouTube video ID. Then use Assessments to add a quiz per chapter. Scribe and Loom modules skip these steps.

  5. On Review & Publish, check the summary and select Publish Training Module, or select Save Module at any time.

The Module Basics fields are:

  • Module Title and Learning Description (both required).

  • Module Format choices are Scribe Guide (paste the Scribe Embed Code), Loom Video (paste the Loom Embed Code), or Structured Course (you add chapters in later steps).

  • Organize in Folder (Optional).

  • Training Category: Software Training, Compliance, Professional Development, Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Leadership, Technical Skills or Industry Knowledge.

  • Difficulty Level: Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.

  • Who should take this training?: All Team Members, Administrators, Mortgage Advisors, Team Members, Loan Processors.

  • Estimated Duration (minutes): 1 to 600.

  • Required Training, if it's mandatory.

Before you continue: saving publishes the module straight away to the roles you selected. There's no draft step in the builder.

To confirm it worked, you'll see "Training module created successfully!" and the module appears in Modules marked Published.

To edit a module, select Edit on its card. To delete one, select the delete icon and confirm "Are you sure you want to delete this training module? This action cannot be undone." Modules marked Broki Global Guide come from Broki and can't be edited or deleted.

Add a folder

Add a folder so learners can find modules inside My Learning.

  1. In My Learning, on the folder view, select New folder.

  2. Enter the folder name when prompted.

To confirm it worked, you'll see "Folder "{name}" created".

Practical examples and other ways to use it

These examples cover an onboarding folder, a compliance course, and pointing people at topic guides.

  • New-hire onboarding: one way to use this is to create a folder called "Onboarding – Example Mortgage Co.", add a Loom walkthrough of your own process, and target All Team Members.

  • Compliance refresher: create a Structured Course in the Compliance category with a quiz per chapter, and turn on Required Training.

  • Self-serve how-to: point team members to Topic guides in the video library, for example "Create a New Document Batch".

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

These mistakes come from skipping the folder, pasting a link instead of embed code, or saving with no target role.

  • Saving a module without a folder. My Learning only shows modules inside folders, so team members won't find it. Pick a folder under Organize in Folder (Optional).

  • Pasting a link instead of embed code. Scribe and Loom modules need the full embed code. For Loom, use Share, then Embed, then Copy code. Otherwise the guide doesn't display.

  • Leaving out target roles. Saving fails with "Please select at least one target role in Step 1". Select at least one role.

Troubleshooting

Use this section when a module won't save, a Broki guide can't be edited, a video window is blank, training won't load, or the Settings tab is missing.

"Module description is required - please add a description in Step 1"

This message means Learning Description is empty.

Possible causes

  • Learning Description is empty.

To fix

  1. Go to Module Basics.

  2. Add a description, then save.

Confirm it worked

  • "Training module created successfully!" appears.

"Scribe embed code is required for Scribe Guides" or "Loom embed code is required for Loom Videos"

This message means a Scribe or Loom module is missing its embed code.

Possible causes

  • The format is Scribe or Loom, but the embed code box is empty.

To fix

  1. Copy the embed code from Scribe or Loom.

  2. Paste it into the embed code box, then save.

"Cannot edit global Broki training modules"

This message means the module is a Broki-provided guide.

Possible causes

  • The module is provided by Broki.

To fix

  1. Create your own module instead.

A quick guide or video window is blank

A quick guide or video window is blank when Scribe, Loom, or YouTube is blocked.

Possible causes

  • Your network or a browser extension blocks Scribe, Loom or YouTube.

To fix

  1. Allow those sites in your browser or network filter.

  2. Open the module again.

"Unable to load training"

This message means training could not load your modules.

Possible causes

  • Training couldn't load your modules.

To fix

  1. Select Try again.

Contact support if

  • The message keeps appearing, or a course shows "Content Coming Soon!" for a module you published. Include the module title and a screenshot.

I can't find Training Modules in Settings

Training Modules is missing from Settings when your role can't open that tab.

Possible causes

  • Your role doesn't have file management or company settings access.

To fix

  1. Ask an admin to check your role's permissions.

Tips and best practices

These tips keep modules short enough to finish and named so learners can find them by folder.

  • Keep each module short and focused. Shorter modules are easier to finish, and the duration shown on each card helps learners plan.

  • Use folder names that match your team's areas. The folder view is how learners find modules.

Limitations and important behavior

These limits cover where training lives, folders, immediate publishing, Broki guides, the Popular sort, and the bookmark icon.

  • Training sits under Settings and isn't in the left sidebar.

  • My Learning shows modules by folder only. Modules without a folder don't appear there.

  • Saving a module publishes it immediately.

  • Broki-provided modules can't be edited or deleted.

  • The Popular sort in the video library doesn't reflect real viewing data.

  • The bookmark icon on module cards doesn't save anything yet.

Frequently asked questions

These questions cover the video library on mobile, where topic guides open, and completion rates.

Is the video library on mobile? The Video library icon is in the desktop top bar only.
