Login, signup, and password reset

Sign in with your email and a code, create an organization, or reset a forgotten password.

Written by Jarrett White

Overview

Broki staff sign in with their email address and password, then enter a 6-digit verification code that Broki emails to them every time they sign in. New brokerages create an account with an invitation code and then set up payment; team members join through an invite email instead, and borrowers never sign in here — they use the links their broker sends.

This article covers signing in, the verification code, creating a new organization, resetting a forgotten password, and confirming an email address change. For joining an existing team, see Team signup and collaborator access.

At a glance

These are the facts to remember about signing in.

  • Every password sign-in asks for a 6-digit code emailed to you. It expires after 10 minutes.

  • New brokerages use Create your organization and an invitation code. Team members join from an invite email.

  • Forgot password? emails a reset link. Updating the password signs you out everywhere.

  • An email change must be confirmed from both the old inbox and the new inbox within 24 hours.

Before you begin

Check these points before you sign in, create an account, or reset a password.

  • You need access to the inbox for the email address on your Broki account. Every sign-in sends a code to that inbox.

  • To create a new organization you need an Invitation code. You can request one from the signup page.

  • If you are joining an existing brokerage, do not use Create your organization. Use the invite email your admin sent — signing up creates a separate, new organization.

  • Borrowers, co-borrowers, and partners do not need a Broki staff login. They use application links, client portal links, signing links, or partner portal links.

Step-by-step instructions

Follow these steps to sign in, create an organization, reset a password, or confirm an email change.

Sign in with your email, password, and the 6-digit code Broki emails you.

  1. Open the Broki sign-in page. The page title is "Welcome back".

  2. Enter your Email address and Password. Use the eye icon in the password field to show or hide what you typed.

  3. Select Sign in.

  4. Broki shows "Verification code sent! Please check your email." and opens the Verify your email window, which says "We sent a 6-digit code to" followed by your address.

  5. Type or paste the 6-digit code from the email.

  6. Select Verify email.

  7. You see "Email verified successfully!" and then "Logged in successfully", and the dashboard opens.

If the code has not arrived after a minute, select Resend code. You see "A new code has been sent." To abandon the sign-in, select Cancel or press Esc.

Change the language on the sign-in page

Change the language on the sign-in page before you submit the form.

  • Use EN / FR at the top of the page to switch the sign-in and signup screens between English and French.

Change the theme on the sign-in page

Change the theme on the sign-in page with the light and dark toggle.

  • Use the light/dark toggle at the top of the page to change the page appearance.

Leave the sign-in page

Leave the sign-in page and return to the Broki website.

  • Back to Site leaves the app and opens the Broki website.

Create a new organization

Create a new organization only if your brokerage does not have a Broki account yet.

  1. On the sign-in page, select Create your organization. The page title is "Create account".

  2. Enter your Full name, Company name, Email address, Password, and Confirm password. The password must be at least 6 characters.

  3. Enter your Invitation code. Letters are converted to uppercase automatically.

  4. If you don't have a code, enter your email address first, then select Send one to my email. In the "Get your invitation code" window, select Send invitation code. You see "Invitation code sent! Check your email."

  5. Choose your language with EN / FR before you submit. The language you sign up in becomes your organization's default language.

  6. Tick "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy". Select either link to read it first.

  7. Select Create account.

  8. Enter the 6-digit code from your email in the Verify your email window and select Verify email.

  9. You see "Account created successfully! Redirecting to secure payment setup..." and the secure payment page opens.

  10. Complete payment. After payment, Broki opens the setup wizard — see Onboarding wizard.

Before you continue: the invitation code is used up when you submit the form, even if a later step fails. If account creation fails after you submit, contact support rather than requesting a new code repeatedly.

If you leave the payment page without paying, you return to the sign-in page. Your account exists, but the app stays locked behind the payment step until a subscription is active. See Billing and subscription.

Reset a forgotten password

Reset a forgotten password from the sign-in page. Also called: forgot password.

  1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?.

  2. Enter your email address and select Send reset link.

  3. You see "Password reset email sent! Please check your inbox and follow the instructions." After two seconds the sign-in page opens again.

  4. Open the reset email and select the link. It works on a different device or browser from the one you requested it on.

  5. Broki shows "Validating reset link...", then the Set New Password form.

  6. Enter your New Password and Confirm New Password. It must be at least 6 characters and both fields must match.

  7. Select Update Password.

  8. You see "Password updated successfully! You can now log in with your new password." and the sign-in page opens.

  9. Sign in with the new password and the emailed verification code.

Before you continue: updating your password signs you out of Broki on every device and browser, including any other tabs you have open.

Confirm a change to your email address

Confirm a change to your email address from both the old inbox and the new inbox.

When your sign-in email changes — either you edit it from your account menu, or an admin changes it for you — Broki sends a confirmation link to both the old and the new address. Both must be confirmed.

To start the change yourself, select your name at the top of the sidebar, select Edit next to Email, enter the new address, and select Save. You see "Check your inbox to confirm your new email address."

  1. Open the confirmation email in the first inbox and select the link.

  2. Broki shows "First verification confirmed" and asks you to check your other inbox. Select Back to dashboard if you want to keep working.

  3. Open the confirmation email in the other inbox and select that link.

  4. Broki shows "Email change complete". Select Go to login.

  5. Sign in with the new email address.

Before you continue: completing the second confirmation signs you out everywhere, and the old email address stops working for sign-in immediately.

Sign out

Sign out from the account panel at the top of the sidebar.

  1. Select your name and photo at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Select Sign out at the bottom of the panel.

Practical examples and other ways to use it

These examples show everyday ways people sign in, reset a password, or create an organization.

  • Working from a new laptop. Alex Sample signs in on a new laptop, enters the emailed code, and lands on the dashboard. No extra device registration is needed because the code is sent on every sign-in.

  • Locked out before a client meeting. Jordan Example can't remember their password. They use Forgot password? on their phone, open the reset link there, set a new password, and then sign in on the office computer with the new password and a fresh code.

  • Brokerage owner starting a trial. The owner of Sample Mortgage Group requests an invitation code from the signup page, creates the account in French so the organization defaults to French, and completes payment before the wizard opens.

  • Suggestion: if your team shares a front-desk computer, have each person sign out from the account menu when they finish, so the next person signs in under their own name and their actions are logged correctly.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

These mistakes block sign-in, signup, or an email change.

  • Using Create your organization to join a team. This creates a separate organization with its own billing, and you won't see your team's files. Ask your admin to send (or resend) a team invite and use the link in that email. Always join through the invite email.

  • Requesting several codes in a row. An older code may no longer work once a new one is sent, and you're limited in how many you can request. Wait for the email, check spam, and use the most recent code. Request a new code only after at least a minute.

  • Opening an old reset email. Reset links can only be used once and expire. Request a new link from Forgot password? and use the newest email. Delete old reset emails once you've finished.

  • Confirming only one inbox during an email change. The change stays half-finished and you keep signing in with the old address. Open the confirmation link in both inboxes within 24 hours.

Troubleshooting

Use this section when sign-in, the verification code, a reset link, an invitation code, or an email-change link fails.

"Invalid email or password"

This message appears when the email or password you entered is not accepted.

Possible causes

  • The password is wrong, or Caps Lock is on.

  • The email address has a typo or is a different address than the one on your account.

Check first

  • Use the eye icon to check what you typed in the password field.

To fix

  1. Re-enter your email address and password carefully.

  2. If it still fails, select Forgot password? and reset your password.

Check first

  • Check whether you already confirmed that inbox.

To fix

  1. Start the change again from your account menu, or ask your admin to redo it.

  2. Confirm both new emails within 24 hours.

Confirm it worked

  • You see "Email change complete".

Contact support if

  • Fresh links also show this message.

Tips and best practices

These tips make sign-in codes, passwords, and shared computers easier to manage.

  • Keep your email inbox open in a separate tab when you sign in. The code arrives within seconds and expires after 10 minutes, so having the inbox ready avoids resends.

  • Use a password manager. Broki only requires 6 characters, but a longer unique password protects borrower data in your files.

  • Ask IT to allow Broki emails before your go-live date. Sign-in codes, reset links, and team invites all depend on email delivery.

  • Sign out on shared computers. Each sign-in needs the account owner's inbox, so a signed-out session can't be reopened by someone else.

Limitations and important behavior

These limits apply to sign-in, codes, password reset, and email changes.

  • The emailed code is required on every password sign-in. It can't be turned off, and authenticator apps and text-message codes aren't available.

  • Sign-in with Google, Microsoft, or single sign-on isn't available. Use your email and password.

  • Codes expire after 10 minutes and allow 5 attempts. You can request a new code once every 60 seconds, up to 5 per sign-in attempt and 10 per hour.

  • Links that try to sign you in directly (for example, an old magic link) don't complete sign-in on their own. Broki sends you to the password-and-code screen.

  • Resetting your password or finishing an email change signs you out on every device.

  • Email change links expire after 24 hours, and both the old and new inboxes must confirm.

Frequently asked questions

These questions are about the verification code, passwords, and who needs a login.

Can I turn off the verification code? No. Every password sign-in requires the emailed code.

Can my admin reset my password for me? Use Forgot password? yourself — the reset link goes to your own inbox. An admin can't see or set your password.

Do borrowers need a Broki login? No. Borrowers use the application link, client portal link, or signing link their broker sends.

Should I ever send my password or code to support? No. Broki support will never ask for your password or verification code. Don't share them with anyone.

Why did I get signed out on my other computer? Changing your password or completing an email change signs you out everywhere. Sign in again with your current details.
