Profile and team visibility

Edit the broker profile clients see in their portal, including your photo, bio, links, and who can view it.

Written by Jarrett White

Overview

Your profile on Settings > Profile is the broker profile clients see when they open About in their client portal. It holds your photo, bio, location, credentials, reviews, booking link, and social links, and a Visibility setting that can hide the detailed profile.

Also called: About.

Admins can also edit any team member's profile from the same page.

At a glance

  • Clients see this profile when they open About in the client portal.

  • The headshot saves immediately. The cover image and every other field need Save profile.

  • Only Hidden - Don't show my detailed profile hides the detailed profile. Clients Only, Show on team page, and Show contact information are saved but don't change what anyone sees.

  • Secure application URL changes your own default application link, including when an admin is editing someone else's profile.

Before you begin

Anyone can open their own profile. Name, email, and phone come from the team member record, not from this page.

  • Everyone can open Settings > Profile.

  • Only admins see Editing profile for, which lets them switch to another member's profile.

  • Your name, email, and phone come from your team member record on Settings > Members, not from this page. Ask an admin to change them if you can't.

  • Have your headshot (and an optional wide cover image, at least 1500×400) ready.

Step-by-step instructions

These steps edit each part of your profile, save it, or let an admin edit another member's profile.

Open your profile

Open your profile on Settings > Profile. Changes stay on the page until you select Save profile.

  1. Go to Settings > Profile.

  2. The left side lists the sections: Identity, Location, Credentials, Content, Reputation, Connect, and Visibility.

  3. Select a section to edit it. Your changes in every section are kept until you select Save profile, so you can move between sections before saving.

Add your photo, bio, and tagline

Add your photo, bio, and tagline in the Identity section. The headshot saves on its own. The cover image waits for Save profile.

  1. Select the upload icon on your headshot to add a photo. It uploads and saves straight away; you see "Profile image updated!".

  2. Select Change Cover to add a cover image. You see "Cover image uploaded!", but the cover is only kept after you select Save profile.

  3. Fill in Bio and Tagline (a short line used on profile cards).

  4. Brokerage override replaces your company name on your profile. Leave it empty to use the company name from Company Profile.

  5. Verified profile badge shows a verified badge on your profile.

Enter your location

Enter your location in the Location section. An empty street address uses your company address.

Enter Street address, City, Province, Postal prefix, and Areas served (separate areas with commas, for example "Langley, Surrey"). If you leave the street address empty, your company address is used.

Enter your credentials

Enter your credentials in the Credentials section.

Enter Years of experience, Licence information, and Languages (comma-separated). Under Mortgage specialties, select the specialties that apply or type your own, separated by commas.

Add awards, videos, resources, and FAQs

Add awards, videos, resources, and FAQs in the Content section. Use Add next to each list.

  • Awards: Title, Issuer, Year.

  • Videos: Title and YouTube URL.

  • Helpful resources: Title and an optional URL.

  • FAQs: Question and Answer.

Select Remove on any item to delete it.

Add your rating and reviews

Add your rating and reviews in the Reputation section. Only add real reviews from real clients.

Enter Rating (0–5), Review count, and your Google review link. Under Featured reviews, add reviews with Author, Rating, Date, and Review text, and tick Verified client interaction if it applies. Only add real reviews from real clients.

Add your booking link, application link, and social links

Add your booking link, application link, and social links in the Connect section.

  1. Book consultation URL: your booking page link (for example a Calendly link).

  2. Response time (minutes): shown as "Responds in ~N min".

  3. Secure application URL: your application link.

Before you continue: Changing this replaces your default application link everywhere it is used, not just on your profile. See Client journey and application links.

  4. LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Website.

The Call Broker button on your profile uses the phone number on your team member record. If you see "Add a phone number on the team member record to enable Call Broker.", ask an admin to add your phone on Settings > Members.

Set profile visibility

Set profile visibility in the Visibility section. Choose Profile visibility:

  • Public - Anyone can view

  • Clients Only - Must be logged in

  • Hidden - Don't show my detailed profile

Show on team page and Show contact information are also on this section. See "Limitations and important behavior" for what they currently do.

Preview and save your profile

Preview and save your profile when you want to check it and keep the changes. Only the headshot is already saved.

  1. Select Preview profile to see how your profile looks, including unsaved changes.

  2. Select Save profile. You see "Profile updated successfully!" (or "Profile created successfully!" the first time).

Confirm it worked: Reload the page and check your changes are still there, or preview the profile again.

Edit a team member's profile

Edit a team member's profile when you are an admin and need to update someone else's About details.

  1. On Settings > Profile, choose the person in Editing profile for.

  2. Edit their sections and select Save profile.

Before you continue: The Secure application URL field always shows and changes your own application link, even while you are editing someone else's profile. Leave it unchanged when editing another member.

Practical examples and other ways to use it

These examples set up a profile clients will open from About.

  • Set up a new advisor's profile before their first client. As an admin, choose them in Editing profile for, add their photo, bio, and specialties, and save.

  • Show clients how fast you respond. Set Response time (minutes) so the profile shows "Responds in ~15 min".

  • Point clients to your booking page. Add your Book consultation URL so clients can book a call from your profile.

  • Keep an assistant's profile private. Set their Profile visibility to Hidden - Don't show my detailed profile.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

These mistakes drop unsaved profile changes or change the wrong link.

  • Leaving the page without saving. Only the headshot saves on its own. Select Save profile before leaving, especially after changing the cover image.

  • Changing your application link by accident. Secure application URL is your real application link. Only change it if you mean to.

  • Expecting Clients Only or the checkboxes to hide information. Only Hidden currently changes what clients see. Use Hidden if you need the profile hidden.

  • Adding sample or placeholder reviews. Clients see what you add. Only add genuine reviews.

Troubleshooting

Use this section when a profile will not load, save, or show a Call Broker button.

"Your profile data didn't load. Save is disabled. Please refresh the page."

You see "Your profile data didn't load. Save is disabled. Please refresh the page." when Broki could not find your team member record.

Possible causes: Broki couldn't find your team member record when the page opened.

To fix:

  1. Reload the page.

  2. If it still appears, ask an admin to check that you are listed on Settings > Members.

Contact support if: You are listed as an active member and the message keeps appearing.

My changes disappeared

Your changes disappeared when you left the page or switched Editing profile for before selecting Save profile.

Possible causes: You left the page or switched Editing profile for before selecting Save profile.

To fix: Make the changes again and select Save profile before leaving.

Confirm it worked: You see "Profile updated successfully!".

Clients don't see a Call Broker button

Clients don't see a Call Broker button when your team member record has no phone number.

Possible causes: No phone number on your team member record.

To fix: Ask an admin to add your phone on Settings > Members > Edit member.

"Failed to save profile" or "Failed to upload image"

You see "Failed to save profile" or "Failed to upload image" when the save or the image upload did not go through.

Possible causes: The connection dropped, or the image couldn't be uploaded.

To fix:

  1. Check your connection and try again.

  2. For images, try a smaller JPEG or PNG.

Contact support if: Saving keeps failing. Include the section you were editing and the time.

Limitations and important behavior

These limits apply to visibility, the application link, and which fields save on their own.

  • Hidden - Don't show my detailed profile hides your detailed profile in the client portal and in partner and lawyer portal file views.

  • Clients Only - Must be logged in, Show on team page, and Show contact information are saved but don't currently change what anyone sees.

  • Secure application URL belongs to the signed-in person. Admins editing another member's profile can't change that member's application link here.

  • The headshot saves immediately. Everything else, including the cover image, needs Save profile.

  • Name, email, phone, and display title are managed on Settings > Members.

Frequently asked questions

These are questions about where clients see your profile and what you can hide.
