Where to Find Account Settings
Go to: Sidebar → Settings
You’ll see multiple tabs. The ones used for account management are:
Profile / Account / Security
Used for login details, password, theme, sidebar layout, mortgage file tab layout, signatures, and application link.
Personal Profile
Used for building your public-facing profile (what can appear in the client portal team section).
1) Update Your Account Email Address
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security
Question: How do I change the email I use to log in?
Answer: In the top section, update your account email address and save.
Important notes:
This is your login email (not necessarily the “send-from” email).
If you use multiple connected inboxes (Gmail/Outlook/Rackspace), those are managed separately under Integrations.
If you change your email, make sure your team knows which inbox is the main one you’re using for client communication.
2) Update Your Email Display Name
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security
Question: What is “Email Display Name”?
Answer: This is the name recipients see when you send emails (for example: “Jarrett White” instead of just an email address).
Best practice:
Use your real name or your brand format: “First Last | Company”
Keep it consistent for deliverability and professionalism.
3) Change Your Password
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security
Question: How do I change my password?
Answer: Enter your current password, set a new password, confirm it, then click Update.
Best practice:
Use a long password (12+ characters)
Avoid reusing passwords from other services
Enable two-step verification if available in your account security settings
Troubleshooting:
If your current password isn’t accepted, use your password reset process from the login screen.
If you’re locked out, contact support for account recovery steps.
4) Choose Your Interface Theme
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security
Question: Can I change the look of Broki?
Answer: Yes. You can select your interface theme (examples: light mode, dark mode, and other theme options if available).
This affects:
Your internal UI appearance
It does not affect what clients see in the client portal
5) Customize Your Sidebar Layout
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security → Sidebar Layout
Question: Can I reorder my sidebar menu?
Answer: Yes. Drag and drop sidebar items to reorder them.
Question: Can I hide sidebar pages I don’t use?
Answer: Yes. Use the eye icon to hide a page (and unhide it anytime).
Best practice:
Hide unfinished or unused tools for a cleaner workflow
Keep core pages near the top (Pipeline, Leads, Contacts, Documents, Tasks)
6) Customize Mortgage File Tabs
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security → Mortgage File Tabs
Question: Can I hide certain tabs inside mortgage files?
Answer: Yes. Use the eye icon to hide tabs you don’t need.
Question: Can I reorder the mortgage file tabs?
Answer: Yes. Drag and drop the tabs into the order you want.
Best practice layouts:
Top workflow: Documents → Notes → Conditions → To-Dos → Scenarios → Offers
Operations heavy: Notes → Documents → Conditions → Compliance → To-Dos → Logs
7) Build and Manage Email Signatures
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security → Email Signatures
Question: How do I create an email signature in Broki?
Answer: Use the signature builder and either paste your existing Gmail signature or build one using the editor.
Recommended approach:
Use the “Gmail style” rich editor signature option if available
Copy/paste your existing Gmail signature for best formatting consistency
You can also:
Add a professional headshot
Duplicate signatures
Set a default signature
Choose signatures inside sending modules (document reminders, offers, scenario updates, etc.)
Best practice:
Create 2 signatures: one formal, one short
Keep fonts simple
Avoid overly large images for deliverability
8) Save Your Online Application Link
Go to: Settings → Profile / Account / Security → Application Link
Question: What is the application link used for?
Answer: This is the link used when you click Send Application Link from the Leads or Contacts pages.
You can paste:
Your Velocity application link, or
Your Finmo application link
Best practice:
Confirm the link opens properly in an incognito browser
Make sure it’s the correct link for your team/organization
9) Build Your Personal Profile for the Client Portal
Go to: Settings → Personal Profile
This section is designed to help you create a strong “About Your Broker” profile that can appear in the client portal.
You can add:
Profile visuals

Profile photo / headshot
Personal details (optional, but recommended)
Short bio
Hobbies / fun facts
Hometown / personal background
This helps clients feel connected and builds trust.
Professional details
Years of experience

Visibility settings
Question: Can I hide my profile from the client portal?
Answer: Yes. There is a visibility toggle that controls whether your profile appears in the portal team section.
Best practice:
Keep the bio short, human, and professional
Use a high-quality square image for your headshot
Add your Google review link for credibility
10) If You’re Part of a Team
If you’re in a team account, account settings still apply to you individually, but some items are controlled by admins.
Examples:
Permissions and access controls (admin-controlled)
Billing and subscription management (admin-controlled)
Inviting team members (admin-controlled, unless permissions allow)
If you can’t see a setting:
It may be permission-restricted
Ask your admin to grant access or update it for you
Quick Troubleshooting
Question: I changed my email but emails still send from a different address
Answer: Sending emails depends on your connected email integration (Gmail/Outlook/Rackspace), not just your login email.
Question: My signature isn’t showing in emails
Answer: Make sure the signature is saved and set as default, then confirm you selected it inside the sending module.
Question: My client portal profile isn’t visible
Answer: Confirm the portal visibility toggle is enabled in your Personal Profile settings.
